Back on course, both literally and metaphorically January 14, 2002 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After the faintly uneasy America-based 'Under Suspicion', this is back on course. i think that not being in Oz made me appreciate the significance that it has in all Claire McNab's novels. Australia has a huge resonance in most of her novels and the importance of it to Claire McNab comes through very clearly.
'Death Club' was quite a fun novel set on the women's golf tour - sport is always a popular lesbian setting and this is no exception. It was a light, easy read, giving readers a chance to re-visit the usual cast of chacaters who are now as fleshed out as Carol Ashton - Mark Bourke, Anne Newsome, Aunt Sarah. Some of the golfers were somewhat two-dimensional but as usual a strong denouement and pacy finish pulled me in.
A good novel - my only gripe is please to get some resolution on Sibyl!
